Fairfield Plantation's Christmas Tour of Homes and Villa Rica's Christmas On Main Share a Saturday. Here's How to Do Both.

October 22, 2026

The Fairfield Plantation Christmas Tour of Homes closes its doors at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Thirty minutes later, under the City of Villa Rica's own parade rules, the roads close for the 2026 Villa Rica Christmas Parade.

The two biggest holiday events for people who live behind the Fairfield gate are on the same Saturday this year, with only half an hour between them. Together they make a full day with a built-in order: decorated homes and a vendor market inside the gate in the morning and early afternoon, then the Mistletoe Market and the parade downtown into the evening. You can do both, but it takes two pieces of planning. One has to happen by Dec. 1. The other happens around 4 p.m. on the day.

How the Day Lines Up

Here is how the published hours fit together on Dec. 5, 2026:

Time What's happening Where
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Christmas Tour of Homes and Christmas Vendor Market Fairfield Plantation, based at 7500 Monticello Drive
Noon – 7 p.m. Christmas On Main, with the Mistletoe Market among its offerings; market hours not yet posted The Mill Amphitheater, 106 Temple St., Villa Rica
2:30 – 4 p.m. Parade vehicles check in Happy Valley Baptist Church lot, 605 Main St.
4:30 p.m. Roads close for the parade Downtown Villa Rica
5 p.m. Christmas Parade steps off, theme "Winter Wonderland" Starts at Happy Valley Baptist Church

The six-hour tour runs right up against the parade schedule. Christmas On Main starts at noon, so there's a four-hour stretch when both events are open. The downtown festival keeps going until 7 p.m., three hours after the last Fairfield home closes. If you start the day at Fairfield, you still have the whole evening downtown.

December 1 Is the Deadline That Matters

You won't be able to decide on the morning of Dec. 5 and buy a ticket at a front door. The Georgia Magazine event listing for the tour lays out how it works:

  • Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students ages 12 to 17.
  • You have to pay in advance by check, cash, Zelle or Venmo.
  • To buy tickets, email [email protected], and the club will send you a reservation form.
  • The ticket deadline is Dec. 1, 2026.
  • An optional Clubhouse Breakfast costs extra.
  • Guests who don't live in Fairfield Plantation get a one-day gate pass.

The email-and-form process takes a few days, so start soon. That matters most for the last item on the list. If friends or family from outside the gate want to come along, the tour gives them a way in for the day, but only if they're on the reservation before the deadline. Getting tickets in early October or late November makes no difference to the tour itself. It does make a difference for the person you want to bring.

The Fairfield Plantation Women's Club runs the tour, and its listed address is 7500 Monticello Drive. That's also the address of Fairfield Clubhouse, which describes itself as a restaurant and bar open to the public. With the tour's listed venue and the clubhouse sharing a street address, 7500 Monticello Drive is an easy place to start the morning before heading out to the six homes.

Where the Ticket Money Goes

All proceeds from the tour go to Villa Rica's Shop With A Cop program. On the City of Villa Rica's program page, the program is run by the Villa Rica Police Department. Local children in need shop for Christmas presents with an officer, using a set budget. The city says donations go straight to the program, with no administrative or overhead costs taken out.

The Times-Georgian reported on the program, and VRPD Capt. Keith Shaddix described it as serving roughly 90 to 120 children ages 4 to 12 each season. It's funded by local donations, and some children shop with military personnel instead of an officer. Families and community members can submit nominations, and a smaller related effort delivers Christmas presents to elderly Villa Rica residents.

So the two events are connected by more than the date. A $25 ticket to see decorated homes inside the Fairfield gate helps pay for an officer's shopping trip with a child in town.

The 4:30 Handoff

The city's parade registration rules for the 2026 Villa Rica Christmas Parade are strict. Parade vehicles check in at the Happy Valley Baptist Church parking lot between 2:30 and 4 p.m. Walking groups can only be dropped off at 4 p.m. Vehicles that aren't in the parade can't enter the staging area, and the rules say "ALL ROADS WILL BE CLOSED AT 4:30 PM."

The rules don't say which streets close, and the city may send out more details closer to the date. As written, though, the last tour home locks up at 4 p.m. and downtown roads begin closing half an hour later. If you plan to watch the 5 p.m. parade, aim to be parked before 4:30. That probably means leaving the tour a little early instead of staying until it ends.

Here's one way the day could go:

  1. Start at 7500 Monticello Drive, with the optional Clubhouse Breakfast if you added it to your ticket.
  2. Tour the six homes and shop the Christmas Vendor Market while the tour is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  3. Head downtown early enough to park before the 4:30 p.m. road closure.
  4. Browse the Mistletoe Market at The Mill Amphitheater, where the city's listing describes handmade goods and merchandise, including gifts and stocking stuffers.
  5. Watch the "Winter Wonderland" parade at 5 p.m., then stay until Christmas On Main closes at 7 p.m.

If you haven't been to The Mill lately, you can see it before December. Downtown Villa Rica lists Thrill At The Mill for Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, with trick-or-treat booths, a decorated-booth contest and a children's costume contest.

What the City Hasn't Posted for 2026

The 2026 Christmas On Main listing gives the date, hours, location and the Mistletoe Market. As of now, it doesn't include a tree-lighting time or a Santa schedule.

Last year's event gives a rough idea of what could be added. A Gradick Communications listing for the Dec. 6, 2025 Christmas On Main showed an Egg Nog Fun Run at noon, a Reindeer 5K at 12:30 p.m., the Mistletoe Market from 2 to 7 p.m., the parade at 5 p.m., Santa photos at 6 p.m. and a tree lighting at 7 p.m. That was 2025's schedule, not 2026's. Check the City of Villa Rica events calendar before you lock in your evening. If the 2026 schedule has Santa photos or a tree lighting after the parade, staying downtown until close will be even more worthwhile.

Some older pages for Christmas On Main still show past-year details. The city's 2026 Christmas On Main listing is the one to use.

The Clubhouse Calendar Doesn't Pause

Dec. 5 is the big Saturday, but the clubhouse at the tour's listed address runs a full week of events through the season. All of them are open to the public:

  • Monday: Bingo Night, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Trivia Night, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Thursday: Music Trivia, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: Karaoke Night, 7 to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: Weekend Breakfast, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with $4 mimosas and Bloody Marys.
  • Football weekends: Dine-in specials during football season, with a second appetizer or second draft beer at half price.

The clubhouse asks guests to call 770-836-1112 to confirm that night's event. With trivia on Tuesday and Thursday nights, you could reserve tour tickets in November and grab a table for your house guests the week before Dec. 5.

If you're hosting family for the tour, or if seeing six decorated homes has you thinking about what your own place could look like next December, Kelly Berry | The Home Team is always glad to talk Fairfield Plantation over coffee. We hope to see you on Monticello Drive on the fifth.
