October 15, 2026
From Saturday, Oct. 17 through Tuesday, Oct. 27, downtown Bremen has four public events in 11 days, and local groups do much of the work. A women's service club hosts the first, a school foundation helps with the second, dozens of local businesses fill the third, and the Carrollton Wind Ensemble plays the fourth. All four tie back to the same place: The Hub, the city park built where the Hubbard Clothing building used to stand.
That shared address matters. The Bremen Towne Festival is older than The Hub by three decades, and it now lists the park as a partner. The newer events are held there. When the city built the park, it also built itself a fall calendar that reaches past a single Saturday and into the middle of the week.
| Date | Event | Time | Who's behind it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat., Oct. 17 | 33rd Bremen Towne Festival | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. | GFWC Georgia Bremen Junior Woman's Club, with the City of Bremen and The Hub |
| Sat., Oct. 24 | Welcome Home Bremen Alumni Homecoming | 7 to 10 p.m. | City of Bremen, with free popcorn from the Bremen Education Foundation |
| Mon., Oct. 26 | Hub-o-Ween | 5 to 7 p.m. | City of Bremen, with tents from more than 35 local businesses |
| Tue., Oct. 27 | Spooky Tunes concert | 7 to 8 p.m. | Carrollton Wind Ensemble |
Each of these could stand on its own. Packed into 11 days at one downtown park, they become the busiest stretch on Bremen's fall calendar. The run starts with the oldest event on the list.
The Bremen Towne Festival is in its 33rd year. The GFWC Georgia Bremen Junior Woman's Club hosts it on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. downtown. The club's page lists arts and crafts, food exhibitors, and entertainment all day. It also calls the festival the club's largest fundraiser, so your booth purchases and food tickets that day go back into the club's work.
The parade is the fixed point of the morning. Lineup begins at 9 a.m. on Lakeview Drive in front of Jones Elementary School, and the parade steps off at 10 a.m. The club hasn't posted a 2026 route. For the 2025 festival, the Times-Georgian reported that the parade would travel down Hamilton Avenue and turn right on Main Street. That's a reasonable guide to where crowds gathered last year, but it isn't confirmed for this year.
The club's page doesn't name performers or food vendors yet. Neither does the Greater Haralson Chamber listing, which describes local vendors, food, live entertainment, family activities, and parade registration. If you're planning around a particular act or booth, keep an eye on the club's page this week.
What has changed since the festival began is the club's list of partners. The 2026 announcement says the club partners "with the City of Bremen and The Hub for the festivities." A park that opened only recently now shares billing with an event in its fourth decade.
The Times-Georgian reported that The Hub broke ground in October 2023 and officially opened on Dec. 6 with a Grand Opening Dedication at 11 a.m. City staff, the city council, and Mayor Sharon Sewell attended. The paper quoted the mayor at the dedication:
"It recognizes our heritage, our commitment to excellence, Bremen people of all ages, partnerships among our businesses with our city and our people and our bright community future. It is especially exciting that most of the work done in the park has been done by local businesses."
The first night set the tone for what followed. The same paper described a Hometown Holiday Extravaganza that evening, with local vendors, artists, and businesses opening their doors in frigid weather. There were cookies with Mrs. Claus, a miniature train ride, a faux snow globe bounce house, and fireworks moved up to 8 p.m.
Before construction, a July 2023 city letter laid out plans for a central plaza and pavilion, an amphitheater in the northeastern corner, and more downtown parking at the south end. Those were plans at the time, so check the site itself before you count on a particular feature. What the city's event notices do say is practical. For the alumni night, chairs won't be provided, so bring your own.
Local businesses helped build the park. Nine days after the festival, a few dozen of them come back to it with candy.
The Welcome Home Bremen Alumni Homecoming runs Saturday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Hub. The city invites Bremen City Schools alumni from the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, and '10s. Each class decade will have a clearly marked area so classmates can find each other.
The lineup:
The chair rule applies here, in print. The notice says chairs will not be provided. With three hours of music and fireworks to close, a folding chair in the trunk is the one bit of planning this evening needs.
The Bremen Education Foundation shows up twice this fall. It's handing out popcorn on Oct. 24, and it's behind the December race listed at the end of this post.
Two nights after homecoming, The Hub hosts two events on consecutive weeknights.
Hub-o-Ween is Monday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. The city's listing promises trick-or-treating at tents from more than 35 local businesses. Also on the program:
The 5 p.m. start on a school night means the two hours go quickly. The pumpkin display ties back to the festival, too. The parade lines up in front of Jones Elementary, and nine days later the school's first graders have their work on display at The Hub.
On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Carrollton Wind Ensemble brings its Spooky Tunes concert to The Hub from 7 to 8 p.m. An hour-long outdoor band concert on a Tuesday rounds out the run, and it's the only one of the four led by a group named for another town. Bring a chair here too. The homecoming notice already says seating isn't provided, and it makes sense to plan the same way for an outdoor concert.
Here's what's confirmed and what's still open as of Oct. 11:
The race lands the day before Dec. 6, the date The Hub opened with fireworks and Mrs. Claus. The city's calendar at bremenga.gov is where the October listings are posted, so it's the first place to check for holiday dates.
The four October events are confirmed now. In order: Saturday, Oct. 17 on Lakeview Drive and downtown; Saturday, Oct. 24 at The Hub with a chair; Monday, Oct. 26 at The Hub with the kids in costume; and Tuesday, Oct. 27 at The Hub with the Carrollton Wind Ensemble.
